Ah yes. Twitter. Bless them.

I spent ten years building my Twitter audience only to finally delete my account in a fit of disgust after being assaulted by a digital pitchfork-wielding mob for daring to — not criticize or denounce or even express an opinion — but merely to journalistically question some of the prevailing views surrounding masking in the wake of Omicron and widely available, free vaccines. The backlash was sickening. The unquestioned assumptions about my motivations, my credentials, my character; the ruthless ad hominen attacks. One asshole troll even took it upon himself to start making fun of my children’s book. Seriously? It was the last straw. Sayonara, Twitter. And good riddance to bad rubbish.
