I have a family member who drinks at least a bottle of wine per day and who has very little appetite. She hasn't lost weight, in spite of the low calorie intake, so I got curious and ran the math on it and realized that her wine drinking accounted for at least 650 calories of her diet per day (at least).

She's tiny, and she's been drinking for decades. You are what you eat, quite literally; whatever you consume is the raw building blocks used to remake your muscles, bones, viscera as they go through their multi-year cycle of renewal. We've talked about her drinking before. But I don't have the heart to tell her that at this point she's probably 50% grape.
