I love your comment and don't want to pop your bubble at all but I'm 90% sure that was an algorithm that put my story in front of you, not the universe. That's how algorithms work; they mimic serendipity by observing the thing you just did and then putting something else in front of you that is just enough like it that it feels like a happy, fortuitous occurrence.

That being said, I'm glad to have you here, and I'm really grateful you found this article meaningful. I agree with your point about making fans, not followers, wholeheartedly--the goal of good writing is to transcend the whole text-on-a-screen relationship and leave the reader feeling like they know you. That's the best form of voice.
