I have been on the road for four months now. Earlier this month I finally made the decision to end this year’s round of traveling and return home. I will be spending the next six months in Alaska and will resume traveling in the fall.

My writing seems to have dropped to a low point, which is probably because I have been demanding too much of myself while simultaneously working a second job. I’ve been thinking about how to deal with this and I think that things will likely pick up next month.

I am not quite sure what to say, at the moment. There have been other months where I had a lot of updates and information to offer, but this month I don’t seem to have a great many words, except to express my frustration at my inability to write more.

It amazes me how fast life moves, not only in terms of past-to-future motion, but also in terms of the “shake” that happens between sunrise and sunset. It’s like barreling down a crooked train track — not only is everything moving at a breakneck speed but it also jerks side-to-side, keeping you from getting balance.

In spite of that, I would say that I have done a very good job these last few months when it comes to getting my footing, and the results show. More on that in the future. For now, however…
