I agree. I may have over-played how bad inward focus is. I suppose a better way to phrase it is that pathology is less about being in your head, occasionally, than it is about being trapped there all the time.

It's an ugly gravity.

And there are other forms of pathology that one might argue happen because a person is too outside of themselves.

But I do stand by my general statement -- for most of life's small problems and preoccupations, it's healthy to get out of your own head and back into the world outside.
