One fact I think a lot of people discount too muc his that the traveling life is often cheaper and more financially sensible than the settled life.

When you're settled down it's easy to accumulate creature comforts that inflate your monthly bills. Even without those, however, travel can be a cheaper option depending on where you go.

If you can pull a decent income on the internet, then, you can presently do better, financially, than a lot of people do going into a career.

Depending on how you do it, then, quitting your day job and traveling the world can be an immediately profitable decision.

I suppose I'm speaking from a lucky place, though. After my doctoral program I didn't exactly have a lot of tethers. Leaving wasn't too difficult - and remains one of the better decisions I have made in my life.
