When I bought a fountain pen for the first time I spent a month learning how to un- clench my hand while writing, since I no longer needed to (the capillary action of the pen eliminates the need for pressure/ friction when writing). It paid off in spades; I can usually sit down now and write for several hours straight without experiencing any sort of wrist strain. One day I decided to see how far I could push it and wrote about 5000 words freehand.
